Five Minute Friday: Enough

Where a flash mob of folks spend five minutes all writing on the same topic and then share ‘em over here.

Want to know how Five Minute Friday got started? All the details are here. And every week I’ll pick a post that caught my eye and share it down there in my side bar – see where it says “Featured Five Minute Friday”? Yea -that could be you!

Because, as we all know, the most important rule of Five Minute Friday is leaving an encouraging comment for the person who linked up before you. So getting to feature one of your fine posts is like frosting as far as I’m concerned.

So, set your timer, clear your head, for five minutes of free writing without worrying about getting it right.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

OK, are you ready? Please give me your best five minutes on:::

Enough…

Start:

So much of the time I am overwhelmed with His goodness in my life.  I have far more than enough.  He has given me far more than the broken little girl who walked into that church 20 years ago ever dreamed possible.

Sometime I am ashamed of how much He has given me.  Who am I?  He is so good.  He has unraveled messed that wound so deep in my soul that I couldn’t even tell you where they began or where the roots were.

Then I look at those around me who are struggling.  They struggle with feeling empty, feeling worthless, having no hope.  They struggle with addiction and a lack of understanding of the futility of what they seek.

I look at how much God has given me and I am brought to tears.  I am humbles, amazed, and taken aback.

The Lord takes my breath away.  There is never a time that He doesn’t overwhelm me with His love when I choose to take a moment to wait upon Him.  I get still, and then He is there, heavy and beautiful and my heart almost stops beating.

You are here.  You are here and you are more than enough.  I am unworthy and you love me.  I struggle and you come along beside me and carry the burden in your perfect nail scarred hands.

Stop
